WATCH: FSU commit Devaughn Mortimer spins out of 4 defenders for TD
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard wide receiver and Florida State commit Devaughn Mortimer had himself a game Friday night against Fort. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas.
In a matchup between two of the best teams in southern Florida, Mortimer had a couple of nifty catches and one incredible touchdown.
On 1st-and-10 from the Dillard 10, Mortimer lined up in the slot to the right and ran a simple slant route. He caught the ball around first down line and soon found himself surrounded by a sea of defenders.
One defender grabbed Mortimer by the legs, two other defenders lowered their shoulders and one other St. Thomas Aquinas player was right in the vacinty.
None of them took Mortimer down. He spun out of the most pit, hit the jets and sprinted down the sideline for a 90-yard touchdown.

Devaughn Mortimer was one of many top players in action
While Devaughn Mortimer had the highlight of the game, he was not the main player focus of the game heading into it. The focus was on uncommitted On300 players Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas offensive tackle Julian Armella.
Kelly is the No. 908 player in the 2022 On300 and Armella is the No. 262 on the 2022 On300.
Both are highly sought-after recruits who will be difference makers for whichever team is able to earn their signature.
Kelly will be visiting Oregon next weekend and has gone on visits to Florida and Florida State recently. Armella was recently visited by Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell.
