Florida State is in position to snap Clemson’s 31-game home win streak, the longest such streak in the FBS.

In the fourth quarter, Seminoles defensive end Jermaine Johnson knocked the ball free from the arms of Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei and took it in for a touchdown. The play gave Florida State a three-point lead.

It has been a dismal performance by the Clemson offense. They have three turnovers on the day: two fumbles and an interception. Florida State has three sacks on the day, which is the most Clemson has allowed since the seven sacks Georgia amassed on Sept. 4.

To add insult to injury, Clemson kicker B.T. Potter is 1-4 on field goals.

Clemson holds a 24-20 lead over the Seminoles. This game is the first time the Tigers have score more than 19 points in regulation this season.

If Florida State knocks off Clemson, they will have won four-consecutive games.

Run game struggling against Tigers’ defense

Entering Saturday’s game, Florida State had one of the worst passing games and one of the best rushing games in the ACC. The passing game was decent against Clemson, but the run game struggled mightily.

Quarterback Jordan Travis played well, mounting 182 yards and 9.6 yards per completion. The run game sputtered with just 68 yards. Florida State averaged 230.3 yards on the ground before Saturday.

The offensive highlight for the day for Florida State was a passing touchdown to running back Lawrence Toafili. A swarm of Tigers defenders initially appeared to get the speedster to the turf, but in one of the wildest touchdowns of the college season so far, Toafili never hit the ground, pulled off a barrel roll off a Clemson defensive back and bolted to the end zone. It was a 75-yard play.

The Seminoles host NC State next weekend. They have lost three of their last four games against the Wolfpack.
