In June, Ryan Puglisi traveled south from Massachusetts to Georgia to compete at camp in Athens. He entered the camp as a prospect on Georgia’s radar. He left as a top 2024 quarterback target.

Kirby Smart, Todd Monken, Buster Faulkner and the staff at Georgia loved what they saw in Puglisi. They offered, they started to build relationships and the fast-rising quarterback from the northeast has committed to the Bulldogs.

“It started right after I left Georgia with the offer for me,” Puglisi told On3. “Getting to meet the coaches, work with the staff and see Georgia for the first time really opened my eyes.

“From there, things skyrocketed with our relationships. I knew I liked the coaches and the school a lot. Once I saw the atmosphere with my own eyes Saturday, I knew it.

“Georgia’s coaches, Georgia’s program, and Georgia’s culture are second to none.”

Puglisi is the 5th commitment for Georgia’s 2024 class.

Puglisi connects with Georgia’s Todd Monken

Late in August, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound junior started to think about his commitment. Georgia was on his mind. He continued to communicate with Georgia. Once Sept. 1 hit and recruits in the 2024 class could be contacted by college coaches, Georgia took it to another level.

Monken made Puglisi feel like a priority and he played a major role in the new commitment.

“Coach Monken was a very big part of my decision. He is an offensive mastermind. Coach Monken not only knows what he is doing with an offense and quarterbacks, but he is a very personable person too.

“We can talk football, we can talk life and we have a great relationship. He is smart, he has great knowledge and I am excited to work with him.”

Puglisi wants to be pushed at Georgia

Monken pushes his quarterbacks. Smart pushes his coaches and his players. That is something that draws the signal caller out of Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms to the Bulldogs.

“I was looking for a school where I would be around the best and pushed to my limits. I want to be coached hard and pushed to my limits. Georgia is the prime example of what I was looking for.

“I will be pushed by the best, I will be surrounded by the best and I will be coached by the best. The culture at Georgia is supreme excellence. I have always wanted to be around great people. That is what I see at Georgia.”

This is like a dream coming true for Puglisi

He has been an athlete since he was born. Puglisi has played a lot of sports for as long as he can remember. Football was a love of his since he picked up a football.

“Committing to Georgia and playing in the SEC means everything to me,” Puglisi said. “Since I first started playing football at five years old, I knew I wanted to pursue this game. I have been working my whole life to play for a program like Georgia.

“I still have a lot of work to do and I am not satisfied, but I am excited to be in this position. It is exciting. I am, grateful to all those that have helped me get here and I can’t wait to work even harder now.”
