Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic three-star defensive lineman Jayden-Jamal Hanne has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, he announced Monday afternoon.

Hanne chose the ‘Dawgs over Texas, Nebraska, UCLA and Oregon. He has visited Athens three times, most recently over this past weekend.

Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott led the charge to bring Hanne to the Red and Black.

“The main reasons are that I committed to Georgia was the culture and brotherhood,” Hanne told On3. “I love the culture that they have at Georgia. The brotherhood they have and the relationship with coach Scott and the rest of the staff is great too.

“. . . They are all about the work and efficiency — when it’s time for business, it’s all business, but they also are able to have fun while doing it,” Hanne added. “When I think of Georgia, I think about a program that will push you to be the best version of yourself. The coaching staff is amazing, you can learn from everybody that is on the staff. And they all love the game of football.”

A native of Germany, Hanne previously told DawgsHQ that the Georgia brand is known around the world.

“It’s Georgia,” Hanne said in June. “Everyone around the world knows Georgia. It’s like a top program for a long period of time. They create great players. Their standard is all about the work. I love the work.”

Georgia adds another to its elite DL class

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Hanne is the nation’s No. 679 overall prospect, No. 61 defensive lineman and No. 56 recruit from California in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hanne joins a loaded Georgia defensive line class which also includes Warner Robins (Ga.) five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, Hillside (N.J.) top-100 EDGE Darren Ikinnagbon, Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett and Humboldt (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers.
