3-star ATH Kyron Jones commits to Georgia
Charlotte (N.C.) Charlotte Christian three-star athlete Kyron Jones took his official visit to Georgia two weeks ago, and thought this place might be his future home.
But the then-NC State commit didn’t want to rush anything.
“After my official visit, I was feeling really good about the place,” Jones told On3. “But I just wanted to make sure I get through all my visits because I want to see everything before I really make a decision. But I really made the decision after my official.”
He took his final official visit to Nebraska this past weekend and decommitted from the Wolfpack on Monday.
Two days later, Jones announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on National Signing Day.
“I felt like this would be the best place to grow and get me ready for the future I want to have athletically and academically,” Jones said.
While he felt comfortable making the switch, he did enjoy his relationship with the Wolfpack.
“NC State was one of the first jump on me, committed early before I got a lot more offers, and the relationship with coaches,” Jones said about the Wolfpack.
“I had to look at my future and what will be best for me. An opportunity for me to take my game to another level, I just felt that Georgia was the place.”

Jones said the Bulldogs coaches said he could play either running back or defensive back for the team.
But they told him they think the better fit for him would be on defense.
“They feel like I can play both but they said, longevity wise, I feel like my career would be longer if I decided to try to learn DB there,” Jones said.
The Bulldogs have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, and Jones knows he is entering a competitive environment.
That’s more than okay with him.
“I feel like I thrive in areas where I’m competing heavily every day and I feel like it’s gonna make me a better player,” Jones said.
