Five-star Venice (Fla.) EDGE Damon Wilson was at Georgia for an official visit last month, where the Bulldogs impressed him and his family on their second trip to Athens during the summer.

He’ll return to Georgia this weekend when the Bulldogs host Tennessee, sources tell On3.

His recruitment has shaped into a battle between Georgia and Ohio State. The Buckeyes got him on campus for an official visit in September and also made in-home visits with him almost immediately after he returned from Athens last month.

Alabama has stayed in contact with Wilson’s camp, and a visit to Tuscaloosa is being considered for later this month. There is also a possibility he returns to Ohio State for the Michigan game on Nov. 26, but neither of those visits have been locked in to this point.

Based on the latest intel, this visit could be a big one for the Bulldogs as Wilson and his high school team prepare for the playoffs. Once that begins, his focus will be locked in on leading Venice to a deep run toward the state championship, and recruiting will be on the back burner.

At this point, a decision likely isn’t expected until after Venice’s playoff run is over. Wilson is an early enrollee though, so he will be making a decision before or during the Early Signing Period in December.
