5-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson commits to Georgia
When Isaiah Gibson made his way to Los Angeles from Warner Robins (Ga.) in March, he loved it so much that he committed to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. He caught many by surprise. Entering that visit, Georgia was a school trending for the No. 27 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
The Bulldogs stayed consistent, the relationships continued to build and after visiting multiple times this summer, Gibson has decided to stay home and commit to the Bulldogs.
“I have those relationships with Georgia,” Gibson told On3. “I am close to the coaching staff, it is a school close to home and I have relationships with the coaches and the team. That made a big difference for me.”
Chidera-Uzo Diribe is Gibson’s lead recruiter. The two have a strong bond. It is not much different than the connection with head coach Kirby Smart.
“We are like brothers. Coach Diribe is a strong coach, but we can talk about anything. I like his overall personality and he always shoots it straight with me.

“Coach Smart is the same. I talk to coach Smart a lot and we can talk about anything at any time. He is another great coach that I am comfortable with.”
This decision was not easy, but it is one Gibson feels good about.
“With Georgia, anything is possible,” Gibson added. “Georgia is just a great place. The overall way that coach Smart runs the program, I feel like it is amazing. It’s remarkable, honestly.
“There is a lot I like about Georgia. I have always had them high on my list. They prepare you to be your best. Georgia puts players into the NFL.”
