5-star EDGE Qua Russaw recaps Georgia visit
Montgomery (Ala.) Carver five-star EDGE Qua Russaw has been to Georgia plenty of times as a recruit.
But this weekend was different as he and teammate James Smith had their official visits to the school.
“It helped,” Russaw told On3. “Not to say better because I’ve been liking them — That’s why I decided to come back, but it helped in a good way.”
Russaw is No. 8 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking, which would make him a potential day one starter at many schools across the nation.
That is not the case with the Bulldogs. But that is ok with Russaw.
“They’re not promising me anything but they’re just putting me in the best spot where they feel like I can help the team,” Russaw said.
Co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann is leading the recruitment for Russaw.

He said the two had a great conversation that felt like an hour but actually lasted closer to two hours.
“I have a great relationship with him,” he said. “He explained to me all the positions and like where they want me to play.”
Russaw also talked with head coach Kirby Smart individually about where he sees the five-star EDGE fitting in with the program.
“He thinks I’ll play a big factor in Georgia in the next couple of years as they develop me and I get better over time, learn the plays and stuff like,” Russaw said. “He explained to me like just got to focus on finding out like what I want to do.”
