Aaron Murray gives take on Stetson Bennett's haircut decision
Stetson Bennett looked like a much different quarterback as he arrived at Georgia training camp this month. He got a haircut — and, naturally, it made waves on social media.
It even inspired another former Bulldogs quarterback to get the same cut.
“I went and got me the Stetson buzzcut,” Aaron Murray joked.
Murray joined DawgsHQ’s Wes Blankenship on the Dawg Walk Talk Show this week to talk about, among other things, Bennett’s new hairdo as he gets ready to try and defend Georgia’s national title. After joking about getting the same haircut, Murray said he likes seeing Bennett ready to roll ahead of his first full season as the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback.
“It’s football time,” said Murray, who’s now an analyst at ESPN. “Time to shave the hair off. No one wants long hair, especially Stetson’s little ‘fro, when it’s 95-100 degrees and you’ve got to put a helmet on for three, four hours a day. It’s not ideal. I love it.
“The man’s focused. He’s determined. I always say this about Stetson, he has the biggest chip on his shoulder at all times. The kid means business and I know he’s out there working his tail off in camp.”

Stetson Bennett goes all-in on fall camp with new haircut
The same Stetson Bennett won’t grace the field for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2022.
After becoming the leader of a title-winning team, Bennett has made some wholesale changes. As the Bulldogs star quarterback looks to put on for Athens once again, he went all-in with a new hairstyle entering fall camp.
Winning a ring changes some people, but Bennett simply changes his haircut. Rocking the fade feels like it’s good for a couple more touchdowns and actually may give Georgia faithful more of a reason to believe their team can repeat next season.
