Amarius Mims calls Sedrick Van Pran the team leader at Georgia
Georgia offensive lineman Amarius Mims couldn’t be more proud to call Sedrick Van Pran his teammate.
Throughout his career with the Bulldogs, Van Pran has been lauded for his abilities, from his leadership to his on-field prowess. Speaking with the media, Mims explained why he believes Van Pran isn’t just the leader of Georgia’s offensive line, but the center runs the team as a whole.
“Not just the offensive line, but the team. Literally our team leader, in my opinion,” explained Mims. Just because like, he’s the vocal guy, when things aren’t going good, or when things are going good, he’s going to be the first one to step up and be like, ‘Y’all, we need to do this better. We’re going this good. Keep it up,’ and I feel like, that was one of the biggest pieces like, in my opinion, of our team.
“Like that he came back. Just proud. I’m glad that he did, because he’s one heck of a player, I’ll say that.”
Evidently, Van Pran has made an undeniable impact on Mims. Georgia has a tight-knit group, and that’s going to help their bid for a third straight national title.
With Sedrick Van Pran and Amarius Mims blocking for them, Georgia’s questions at quarterback are eased a bit. Their offensive line is still the standard, and the Bulldogs will be ready for war this fall.

Continuing, Georgia offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran was at SEC media days earlier this summer, representing the Bulldogs as a returning star. There, he heaped praise upon another offensive lineman, Amarius Mims.

As Van Pran explained, Mims is an incredibly important player on Georgia’s offensive line, not just for his talent but for the energy and culture that he helps bring to the unit.
“So just being frank, I think he fits in as a goofball,” Sedrick Van Pran said. “He’s the guy that provides comic relief whenever things are getting serious and hot. You know, you may be a hundred degrees and running guys are ready to get after it, and he says something funny to kind of calm guys down. He’s that kind of guy.”
Amarius Mims was an immensely talented recruit in the 2021 cycle. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he was a five-star recruit, the third-best tackle in his class and the 10th-best player overall. Today, he is seen as one of the top 100 players of the 2023 season.
“But also, he’s like, immensely talented. That guy is one of God’s gifts, just physically. Super, super excited to see what he can do this year.”
Sedrick Van Pran is incredibly important to Georgia’s offensive effort in his own right. He’s considered an excellent NFL prospect, right now, with some mock drafts having him going as early as the late first round, joining the long line of fellow Bulldogs with the Philadelphia Eagles.
