Arian Smith injury update: Georgia WR heads to locker room vs. Mississippi State
A second Georgia player has headed to the locker room after an injury, with receiver Arian Smith going that direction after being injured on a big play for the Bulldogs.
He was briefly checked out by trainers on the field, then walked off to the sideline with some assistance.
After checking into the team’s injury tent, Arian Smith then emerged and headed to the locker room for further evaluation. It was just before half, so it’s possible the injury isn’t all that serious and he’s just getting a little extra treatment prior to the second half.
Either way, it’ll be worth monitoring as the game progresses.
Arian Smith had been the team’s most productive receiver early in the game against Mississippi State, tallying four catches for a game-high 92 yards receiving.
On the season, the veteran receiver had recorded 18 catches for 278 yards and two touchdowns, while also logging one carry for seven yards. He was the team’s leading receiver.

Arian Smith, Branson Robinson shaken up
Arian Smith wasn’t the only Bulldogs player to head to the locker room in the first half.
Georgia running back Branson Robinson suffered an injury during the second quarter against Mississippi State, with team trainers coming over quickly to tend to him.
As they did so, they held towels up to protect the camera view.
Robinson’s right leg appeared to bend under him during a tackle on a short reception with Georgia driving into Mississippi State territory.
“I just watched Branson Robinson walk into the locker room,” the SEC Network sideline reporter Alyssa Lang reported on the air. “Slight limp. he looked disappointed. I’m told by Georgia’s staff it’s a right knee injury. He is out for the remainder of today’s game.”
The talented running back had logged three carries for 12 yard and a touchdown at the time of his injury.
