Carson Beck has put himself in a spot where he has a very tough choice to make. Will he remain in Athens for another season? Or has he done enough where he’s able to make the jump to the pros in the 2024 NFL Draft?

According to DawgsHQ’s Jake Rowe, he’s leaning towards the former. He joined on during Sunday’s episode of ‘Andy Staples On3’ and explained his opinion that Beck will soon announce that he’ll be returning to be Georgia’s starting quarterback next season.

“I’ve been saying this for a little while and I’m still going to hold on to it. I’d be surprised if we don’t find out pretty soon,” said Rowe. “I’ll, also, be surprised if he goes pro. At this point? I think we’ve heard enough to suggest that there’s a very good shot that he’s going to return.”

In his first season as the Bulldogs’ starter, Beck completed 72.4% of his throws for over 3,700 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. That production helped the program to finish with another undefeated regular season before falling to Alabama in the SEC Championship.

It has also been enough, although paired with some inexperience, to put him in conversations regarding the NFL Draft. However, with a lighter class of quarterbacks next season, Rowe thinks Beck might be wiser to be patient and cash in come the draft in 2025.

“It feels like him or Quinn Ewers. It feels like those two will enter the 2024 season (at the top), provided that Ewers does as has been indicated or said and comes back,” said Rowe. “I think that those two will probably be at the top of the heap…I think Shedeur Sanders is probably going to be in that mix as well.”

“Those three? If you can get yourself solidified in that top-three deal? You’ve got a chance to be a Top-15 pick,” Rowe continued. “If you’re a Top-15 pick, you’re going to get an opportunity to start in the NFL and you’re going to make life-changing money just with that first contract.

It’s not an easy decision in front of Georgia’s QB1. Beck could return to play another season between the hedges while potentially risking injury. He may also feel as though he has done enough to take his game to the next level.

Either way, we should know more about Beck’s future soon if Rowe’s prediction comes out correct. It’ll also please those who follow the red and black if what he expects to happen does in fact unfold.

He said today, and it’s got Georgia fans kind of feeling some type of way about it, that it has been the hardest decision of his life. Well, I’m sorry guys – that’s just true,” said Rowe. “You’re telling me you’ve got a shot at the NFL and you’re even contemplating doing something else? It’s very, very hard.”

“Ultimately, I think Georgia is going to get some good news from him in the near future unless something changes,” Rowe said. “That’s just kind of my take on it.”
