Brock Bowers on Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift news: 'A win for the tight ends'
It isn’t easy for Brock Bowers to shake off the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance, especially as a fellow tight end. On Monday, the Georgia standout gave his two cents on the unlikely relationship.
“It’s a win for the tight ends I guess,” Bowers said. “It’s getting a whole lot of media coverage. I’ve seen it everywhere.”
He isn’t wrong about that. “Swelce” has been everywhere. Rumors surrounding the pair have been boiling for weeks. Yesterday, they erupted into reality. Swift sat with Kelce’s family to watch the star tight end compete in the Chiefs’ 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears.
Kelce didn’t disappoint. The eight-time Pro Bowler hauled in seven catches for 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. Swift celebrated every moment. As the ultimate wingman, Patrick Mahomes ensured Kelce gave his special guest something to cheer about.
“I felt a little bit of pressure. And so I knew I had to get it to Travis. And of course, on a route that Travis, he does his own thing and makes up a route and I throw it to ’em. So, I think he wanted to get in the end zone as much as all the Swifties wanted him to,” Mahomes said following the game.
Evidently, Mahomes was as surprised as the rest of us to see Swift at the game.
“He told me at like the last minute,” Mahomes said. “There are some things with Trav, he’ll say it and you don’t know if it’s true or not. Like he’ll say it so calmly… On Friday, he was like, ‘Yeah, I think she’s coming to the game this weekend,’ and then he just moved about his business. And then it just happens. That’s just Travis, I guess.”
Brock Bowers is on his way to stardom
If all goes well for Bowers, perhaps he can follow in Kelce’s footsteps. The Georgia tight end is certainly on the right track. Bowers boasts 22 catches for 256 yards and two touchdowns this season. The 6-foot-4 talent also has a rushing score.

Bowers’ hot start this season is no surprise. In the 2022 campaign, Bowers played in all 15 games, starting in 14. While on the field, the California native tallied 63 catches for 942 yards and seven TDs, all team-highs.
For his efforts, he was named an All-SEC First Team member, finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award and semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year. Bowers’ fellow Bulldogs aren’t oblivious to how special of a talent he is.
“Usually, the equation is if 19 touches the ball, good things happen,” Kirby Smart said after Georgia’s win on Saturday.
“He’s an animal,” quarterback Carson Beck added. “We try to the ball in his hands, did a good job tonight of getting him open and getting the ball in his hands. He makes plays after he does that.”
