Cal transfer guard Jeremiah Wilkinson commits to Georgia

Cal freshman point guard Jeremiah Wilkinson is going home after committing to transfer to Georgia, according to On3‘s Joe Tipton.
Wilkinson, a former three-start prospect out off The Skill Factory in Atlanta (Ga.), returns to his home state out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Wilkinson was named the ACC Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 15.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists while playing an average of 27.3 minutes per game in 2024-25, establishing himself as one of the conference’s most dynamic freshmen last season.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Wilkinson was an impact freshman in Berkley, etching his name into the program record book, ranking fourth among Cal freshmen with 484 total points, tied for third with 15.1 points per game and 60 made 3-pointers, and fifth with 110 free throws made in 2024-25. Wilkinson’s 60 made 3-pointers last season also led all Cal players.
Wilkinson scored a season-high 36 points on 11-of-18 shooting and 5-of-8 from 3-point range in a quadruple-overtime loss at Notre Dame on March 8, marking the seventh-most points scored by a freshman in ACC history. The sharpshooting freshman als added 30 points in an overtime win over Miami on Jan. 25, making his just the second-ever Cal freshman with multiple 30-point games in a season.

After beginning the season on the bench, Wilkinson started the Golden Bears’ final 14 games, averaging 19.5 points per game during that span, and also accounted as a double-digit scorer in 18 of Cal’s 20 ACC regular-season games last season.
Wilkinson had previously committed to Mississippi State in January 2023 before reversing course and committed to Cal in August 2023.
According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Jeremiah Wilkinson brought an aggressive, downhill demeanor to Berkley.
“The 6-foot-1 guard committed to Cal the August after his senior year of high school. He went on to play a prep season to get ready for Cal where he averaged over 33 points per game,” Shaw wrote in an Oct. 17 report previewing the ACC’s top impact freshmen. “The lefty is able to self-create in the half court, using a quick first step and good balance, able to pull up at multiple levels. With a Cal roster featuring 10 new players, there will be opportunity for Wilkinson to take ahold of.”
