Carson Beck describes standard for Georgia offense
Coming into this season, the Georgia Bulldogs had to adjust to several changes on the offensive side of the ball. That included a new offensive coordinator and a new starting quarterback in Carson Beck, who took over from Stetson Bennett after leading the team to two national championships.
At the halfway point through his first season as the starter at Georgia, Beck shared that he sees the goal and the standard for the offense is to score every time they touch the football.
“First and foremost, just execute,” Carson Beck said. “Our goal every single time we step on the field, every single drive, is to score a touchdown. Obviously, is that gonna happen? Probably not, but it is a goal.”
To this point in the season, Georgia’s most complete game on offense was the Kentucky game on Saturday night. The Bulldogs scored early and often on their way to a 51-13 game. During the game, Beck through for 389 yards and four touchdowns.
“As far as execution goes, I think we did a really good job this Saturday,” Beck said. “And moving forward just trying to be consistent in that way.”
Georgia has had some trouble with starting slowly in games on the offensive side of the ball this season. Despite that, Georgia is still 10th in the country in scoring offense, while averaging 40.7 points per game.
Carson Beck has, naturally, been a huge part of that offensive success. Through six games, Beck is completing 73.5 percent of passes for 1,886 yards and 11 touchdowns. However, he’s not alone in bringing value to the offense, with players like Brock Bowers gaining a lot of notoriety for their value.

One player who Carson Beck pointed out as a vital player to the offense is Rara Thomas.
“I mean he definitely is capable of making explosive plays. He helps our offense be explosive,” Beck said. “I always say this that we have so many guys and so much depth, especially at the wide receiver position, where, anybody that we put out there, we fully expect them to go out there and make plays.”
Carson Beck on his improved accuracy
One thing that Carson Beck has worked on is improving his accuracy for this season and, to this point, he’s been successful at improving there. Recently, he shared what went into that improvement.
“I think that’s just a chemistry thing,” Beck said. “As we’re continuing to play and I continue to understand certain guys, the way that they run certain routes? I think that kind of goes to say about the whole accuracy thing.”
With Carson Beck under center this season, Georgia is unbeaten at 6-0, while completing 73.5 percent of his passes throughout the season.
