Carson Beck says his confidence has grown 'exponentially'
Carson Beck’s college experience has changed a ton with Stetson Bennett off to the NFL. He’s getting to compete in a far more expanded role and, to him, it has led his confidence to shoot through the roof.
Beck commented on where his confidence stands following Georgia’s G-Day Spring Game this weekend. He shared his belief that confidence is created through reps and, considering his new status in the Bulldog’s quarterback room, he’s getting all the opportunity he needs to feel as good as he does right now.
“I think confidence builds with reps,” said Beck. “Compared to my freshman year to now, my confidence has grown exponentially. And I only see it growing more from here.”
That confidence was on full display this weekend between the hedges. In another opportunity to compete against Brock Vandagriff and Gunner Stockton, Beck completed 18 of his 22 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown. It was exactly the kind of performance he needed to have in front of several eyes to further extend the thought that he is the leader in the clubhouse at this point.
Georgia still seems to have a ways to go before they make anything official with their quarterback spot for next season. Even so, Beck already seems to have a leg up and, with his confidence only continuing to expand, it may end up even more difficult for anyone to catch him in time to change anyone’s mind.

Vandagriff ‘not sure’ on future at Georgia, will take it ‘day-by-day’
During a quarterback competition, it can sometimes feel like there are too many cooks in the kitchen. That may be how Brock Vandagriff is feeling about the battle going on down in Athens based on his latest comments.
Vandagriff spoke about Georgia’s QB competition following their G-Day Spring Game this weekend. At this moment, he says he doesn’t know what his future holds besides prayer on the matter and a desire to take it one day at a time.
“I’m not sure,” Vandagriff said. “I guess there’s some praying to do. But my plans, for now, are to just take it day by day.”
There are no guarantees at the moment as he may wish to still stick around and compete for the job at his home state’s school. If nothing else, though, it just sounds like all options are on the table for Vandagriff as we move out of the spring practice period.
