Charlie Condon went yard twice Sunday afternoon against No. 18 Tennessee, breaking Georgia‘s all-time freshman home run record with the first and tying the SEC freshman record with the second.

The first came in the bottom of the third as a solo shot to left center and giving the Bulldogs a 4-1 lead at the time. After allowing three consecutive runs over the next two innings, Condon ripped another no-doubter to the same spot to bring home two more runs.

Georgia added to its lead thanks to another two-run home run, this time by teammate Parks Harber and took an 8-4 lead into the home stretch. The rest of the game is airing live on SECN+.

Georgia baseball strikes out 13 in Saturday upset of Tennessee

Georgia baseball turned in a dominant pitching performance Saturday to pull off a 3-1 upset of Tennessee. The Bulldogs struck out a total of 13 batters in what was a big-time defensive outing to snap a nine-game winning streak for the No. 18 Volunteers.

Jarvis Evans and Chandler Marsh combined for all 13 of the strikeouts. Evans entered the game in the first inning after starter Charlie Goldstein exited with a hamstring injury. They pitched a total of eight innings with Marsh relieving Evans in the middle of the sixth and going on to strike out six, including the final strikeout of the game to end the eighth inning.

Georgia allowed just eight hits on the day as well. Jarvis gave up the lone run on the day after walking a batter with the bases loaded in the sixth inning, after which Marsh came into the game. Jarvis finished with the win to improve his season record to 2-0, while Leighton Finley pitched the final inning to record the save.

The Bulldogs scored all three of their runs over the first five innings, including a solo home run from Charlie Condon in the fifth. At the time, it was his 20th of the season. Georgia finished the day with 10 hits as a team, with five players tying for the team lead with two apiece. Connor Tate led all players with two RBIs on the afternoon.

After the series against Tennessee, they next have a game against South Carolina-Upstate on Wednesday before traveling to Missouri for a weekend series against the Tigers beginning on Friday.
