Crash report provides new details on car accident that killed Devin Willock, Chandler LeCroy
The crash report from a Sunday morning car accident that killed Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiter staffer Chandler LeCroy was released Tuesday, according to a story from DawgsHQ. The report provides a few new details to what was already known.
According to the report, LeCroy was the driver of a 2021 Ford Expedition heading southbound on Barnett Shoals Road. The vehicle “failed to negotiate a left curve,” striking a curb with its front passenger tire and leaving the road before striking a pair of power poles.
The vehicle did not stop after that, however, going on to crash into several trees as it rotated out of control. It struck a second vehicle in a parking lot before eventually coming to a stop against an apartment complex building at 930 Barnett Shoals Road. The investigation is still ongoing, and the report also noted that the vehicle was exceeding the speed limit for the area, posted as 40 miles per hour.
Devin Willock, who was seated in the backseat of the vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, while Chandler LeCroy was transported by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Regional, where she was pronounced dead.
There were two other passengers in the vehicle, offensive lineman Warren McClendon and recruiting staffer Tory Bowles. The report states that McClendon, who was in the front passenger’s seat, “sustained a laceration in the middle of his head.”

Willock, a New Jersey native, had just wrapped up his third season at Georgia, where he appeared in all 15 games and started two of them. LeCroy was a UGA graduate with a masters in sports management and policy.
