David Pollack reveals wife Lindsey set to undergo surgery for brain cancer

Former Georgia star David Pollack spends his days now on the airwaves, in front of millions of fans as a college football analyst. Still, he’s usually fairly reserved about his personal life, outside of expressing his faith in God.
On Monday, Pollack took to social media to express something deeply personal. His wife, Lindsey, has brain cancer and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
“I do not share much of my personal life on social media but today is gonna be different,” Pollack wrote. “If you are the praying type please lift up my wife Lindsey. She has brain cancer and surgery is Wednesday at Duke. So thankful to serve a loving God that meets us in our struggles!”
David Pollack starred at Georgia from 2001-04, earning a slew of accolades for his play along the defensive front. Among other recognitions, he captured the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Lott Trophy and the Lombardi Award.
He was a two-time consensus All-American (2002 and 2004) and a first-team All-American in 2003. He was a three-time All-SEC selection (2002-04).
Beyond his days on the field, David Pollack has continued to have an influence on the sport as a commentator and analyst. He has previously worked on the air at ESPN.
David Pollack reveals NIL deals he would have sought
In a lighter time and place earlier this year, Pollack shared some of the NIL deals he might have sought had he played during the modern era. He would have commanded some hefty sums, that’s for sure.

“I mean, something to do with food, because fat boy could crush. Chick-fil-A would’ve been fantastic. That was definitely where I visited the most,” Pollack said during a recent episode of his David Pollack College Football podcast. “Video games or food. Hey, shoes — I would’ve gone buck wild if you got me some Nikes and I got to pick them out. I’d have been all about a sporting goods store where you could get swag and stuff like that. But video games would’ve been great. Gamestop. Does Gamestop do NIL deals? That would’ve been awesome back in the day.”
Food, though, is where Pollack primarily settled. Back in his playing days at Georgia he tipped the scales close to 300 pounds.
The former superstar college player believes he could have commanded some significant endorsements based on his eating habits. He revealed more about his everyday go-to order.
“I think I got two Chick-fil-A sandwiches with cheese and I think I got two fries. Now my Wendy’s order was my pregame (order) — I got two triple stacks with two orders of fries and put them on the burger and had a frosty,” Pollack recalled. “That was my night-before (meal), but Inoko (Hibachi) was fantastic. There was a Japanese restaurant (in Athens) and that would’ve been my No. 1 choice when you said that. Triple-fried rice, double filet, double chicken.
“Anybody wondering why I was 292 pounds, this is exactly why. Thank God I took some food nutrition courses my senior year and never eaten like that again.”
