Georgia DB Javon Bullard heads to locker room after interception
To say Georgia is rolling at halftime of the College Football Playoff national championship game would be an understatement. Heading to the locker room up 38-7, the Bulldogs have been dominant for the first 30 minutes and is on track to being crowned back to back national champions.
Not everything has gone smoothly on the injury front, though. Defensive back Javon Bullard was seen heading back to the locker room just before the second quarter ended. While Georgia is deep across the board in the secondary, hit’s never good to see somebody go down. Especially in a national title game.
Bullard has just secured an interception off TCU quarterback Max Duggan as well. In what should have been a special moment for the defensive back, he is now worrying about an injury.
UPDATE: ESPN’s Holly Rowe later ruled that Bullard would be out for the rest of the game. While it’s devastating to miss out of the remaining portion of a national championship game, Bullard did get to go out on a high note with an interception.
Bullard was a member of the 2021 recruiting class and will most likely have two national championships under his belt. He will be back next season, hoping to make it a clean sweep before possibly going to the NFL.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett makes national championship history
Stetson Bennett has already made history early in the College Football Playoff national championship against TCU, setting the Georgia single season passing record. For that one, he surpassed the legendary Aaron Murray and his fantastic 2012 season.
Now, he is cementing his name alongside some all-time greats after a second rushing touchdown. He now joins Ohio State‘s Craig Krenzel and Texas‘ Vince Young as the only quarterbacks to have multiple rushing touchdowns in a national championship game.
Bennett’s second one was rather easy, getting into the end zone untouched. Even if there was a TCU defender in the area, there was a convoy of offensive lineman leading the quarterback into the end zone.
