Georgia defensive back Kamari Lassiter is excited to be representing the Georgia Bulldogs ahead of the SEC Championship Game amid an incredible stretch of success. That’s a streak of success that has been unmatched in modern college football.

Ahead of the SEC Championship Game, Lassiter took the time to reflect on the Georgia dynasty, being a part of it, and what it’s meant to him.

“I definitely do,” Kamari Lassiter said. “It just takes some time to sit back and appreciate it. It’s hard to, you know, sometimes take a second and slow down with everything going at you so fast with practices and everything flying around at you.”

With Georgia’s win over Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs broke the SEC record for consecutive wins with 29. The record was previously held by two different Alabama teams. During that run, the Bulldogs also won two national championships and an SEC Championship.

“But sometimes to sit down and think, for myself personally to be a part of a really good program and program that’s taught me a lot of things not just about football but about life. I’ve been around some really good guys and some guys that have gone to the league and some guys that are still with me,” Lassiter said.

“So, just being able to be a part of this and have some impact on these teams is really truly just a blessing that I’m actually very grateful for.”

The last time Georgia lost a football game was to Alabama in the 2021 SEC Championship Game. Now, the Bulldogs are getting ready to take on Alabama again in the 2023 SEC Championship. With a win, Georgia will be the likely top seed for this year’s College Football Playoff amid an effort to win its third title in a row.

Kirby Smart reacts to Georgia setting SEC record with 29th consecutive win

After Georgia set the SEC record with a 29th straight win, head coach Kirby Smart took the time to reflect on the accomplishment and success the team has had.

“It says we’ve got a tough one next week. I mean, it’s humility is a week away. That’s what we say around our place. It’s a great honor. I mean, it’s something we’ll look back on. It’s not one person. You know, if I’m thinking right, that’s three different teams, right? There’s a lot of kids that aren’t in that locker room that were a part of that. That’s not the focal point for us. The focal point for us is to get better, you know, and we’ve got to continue to get better,” Smart said.

“Our kids have a lot of pride, and they want to get better. You know, the offense felt like they left points out there. The defense feels like they didn’t play the quarterback run game as well as they should. So, the good thing about that locker room is a lot of guys know there’s work to be done.”
