The injury to Georgia receiver Dillon Bell isn’t as bad as was initially feared, according to a report from Matt Zenitz. The junior could be back for Georgia’s regular season finale against Georgia Tech next week, Zenitz reports.

“The injury is believed to be minor and it seems to even be a possibility that he could be back for next week’s game vs. Georgia Tech,” Zenitz posted on Twitter on Monday.

That is obviously good news for Georgia as Bell is one of the most dynamic playmakers on the Bulldogs offense. He is third on the team in rushing with 106 yards and a touchdown. He also has 35 receptions for 405 yards, which ranks third on the team. In addition, the Texas native leads Georgia with four receiving touchdowns.

Dillon Bell suffered an ankle injury just before halftime on Saturday in a 31-17 win over Tennessee. He had one carry for 2 yards and two catches for 12 yards against the Vols prior to the injury.

Dillon Bell signed with Georgia as a three-star recruit and the No. 70 receiver in the country in the class of 2022, per the On3 Industry rankings.

He was an immediate contributor for the Bulldogs, appearing in 15 games and making five starts as a freshman that year. He caught 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns that season.

Bell increased his production in 2023, appearing in 14 games and making eight starts. He had 29 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns last year and added 25 carries for 157 yards and two more scores.

He is having an even better year this year and will look to finish the season strong, whether that’s against Georgia Tech or in the postseason.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on Dillon Bell after the win over Tennessee.

“It’s ankle. I don’t know if it’s got a high component,” Smart said, according to DawgsHQ. “We looked at it tonight. He was not able to go. I don’t know how severe it will be or how long it will be.

“I mean, look, guys, there’s a bunch of injuries. Earnest Greene. I mean, we’ve had guy after guy after guy after guy go down. Smael (Mondon)CJ Allen both gave us great efforts tonight, but they were unable to practice all week. And the (running) back situations, Cash (Jones) doesn’t practice all week and makes himself available to help the team.”
