Where EA Sports' Toughest Home Environments gets it WRONG

Homefield advantage will be paramount in the highly anticipated upcoming College Football 25 video game. With each stadium making things harder on visiting opponents just like they would in real life. And on Monday, EA Sports revealed that between the hedges in Sanford Stadium will be one of the top five toughest places to play in the game.

The home stadium of the Georgia Bulldogs ranks No. 5 in EA’s toughest places to play rankings, and with Georgia not losing a home game since October of 2019, their ranking is hard to deny.

EA College Football 25‘s ranking of the toughest places to play factored in historical stats such as home winning percentage, home game attendance, active home winning streaks, team prestige, and more. All boxes that the Bulldogs have clearly checked and excelled in over the years.

Sanford Stadium has a capacity of 92,746, making it the ninth-largest football stadium in the country that’s regularly filled up to the brim on Saturday in Athens, Georgia. With the Bulldogs ranking among the nation’s top 10 in average home attendance for over two decades.

The first game ever played at Samford Stadium was on October 12, 1929, when Yale University visited the Bulldogs, with an overflow crowd of 30,000 watching the game. Ever since then, the Bulldogs have experienced various expansion projects that now make Samford Stadium the fifth largest on-campus stadium in the country.

Referred to as the greatest spectator stadium in the South, game days between the hedges have been undeniable, especially in the past three seasons. A stretch where head coach Kirby Smart has led the Bulldogs to two national championship wins and an impressive 42-2 record. Protecting Samford Stadium for four straight seasons with an undefeated record that gamers will look to uphold in College Football 25 virtually when playing with Georgia in the game.

From the iconic hedges to the electric Spike Squad student section, all of the biggest and smallest details of Sanford Stadium are expected in the EA College Football 25 video game. Including Georgia’s mascot Hairy Dawg and beloved live bulldog mascot Uga after live and costumed mascots made appearances in the official College Football 25 trailer.

EA College Football 25 is available for preorder now and will officially be released on July 19. A game that college football fans and gamers alike have long been awaiting and will give them a taste of what it’s like to play at Sanford Stadium and the rest of the country’s top environments in college football.
