Earnest Greene bolsters Georgia’s 3rd-ranked recruiting class
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Four-star offensive lineman Earnest Greene of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco capped off what has been an excellent week of practice at the All-American Bowl by announcing he was heading to Georgia.
Greene picked the Bulldogs over Alabama, Ohio State and Texas.
Greene is the No. 60 overall recruit in the country and No. 5 interior offensive lineman, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Earnest Greene is also the fourth-best player from the state of California after Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Domani Jackson, Anaheim (Calif.) Servite four-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star all-purpose back Raleek Brown.
Greene was named one of the top performers for the West squad on the first three days of All-American Bowl practices.
Georgia’s effort paid off with Earnest Greene
The Dawgs made a “program-wide effort” to recruit Greene and it paid off with the commitment.
Earnest Greene said everybody from the coaches to the academic staff to the support staff to even signed recruits did their part in helping him end up in Athens.
“Coach [Eddie] Gordon, Coach [Matt] Luke, Coach [Kirby] Smart, those are my dudes,” Greene said. “They’ve been recruiting me pretty hard, and I hear from someone on the staff every day, whether it’s Coach Gordon or an academic advisor or a recruit in my class. I hear from someone every day.

“I’ve spoken to a lot of the recruits there. It’s the same stuff the coaches have been telling me. They feel they’ve got a really strong recruiting class. Their message is just to come get a ring and come be great.”
Both the commits and the staff played a compelling role in Earnest Greene’s recruitment.
“The recruiting class, I know if I go there, it’d be a good class,” he said. “It’d be a dominant class. Like I said, the defense is playing lights out. It’s dudes on that team, and it’s somewhat young,” he said. “They can be really dominant in the next couple of years, and they’ve got stability in the coaching staff. They’re not really going anywhere. Those are the biggest things with Georgia.”
Georgia has the nation’s third-ranked recruiting class, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rank. The Bulldogs are behind Texas A&M and Alabama in the ranking.
