NFL Network draft expert Daniel Jeremiah finally released his top five prospects for the upcoming 2022 NFL class. Surprise, surprise — there are a few Georgia Bulldogs on there. Kirby Smart’s national championship team has five, specifically, with all of them coming on the defensive side of the ball. Check them out here.

Georgia Bulldogs in Daniel Jermiah top 50 draft prospects

No. 7 Nakobe Dean – Of the players in Jeremiah’s top 50, Dean is the highest-rated Georgia player and the highest-rated linebacker. Dean won the Dick Butkus award for his performances during the 2021 season, leading the Bulldogs in tackles for a loss and finishing second in tackles and sacks. With a 2022 NFL draft full of defensive talent, of course, Kirby Smart is going to have one of the top-rated prospects in it. Dean is that guy that will lock down the linebacker position on a team for years to come.

No. 15 Travon Walker – Georgia had the best defensive line in the country last season and Travon Walker was a huge reason why. Jeremiah sees him as a guy who can play both on the interior but also get out as an edge rusher and try to rush the passer. There are going to be multiple edge guys taken early in the draft and Walker has the chance to be one of them. He finished the season with 7.5 tackles for a loss and six sacks last year and will be a disrupter up front for whichever team selects him in the first round.

No. 16 Jordan Davis (Jeremiah’s take) – “Davis is an enormous defensive tackle prospect with surprising quickness and athleticism. As a pass rusher, he’s primarily a pocket-collapse player rather than a polished technician. He’s able to bend, latch on and walk opposing linemen right back to the quarterback. He flashes quick hands, and I believe he has upside to develop into more of a threat. He is at his best versus the run. He is immovable inside, locks out blocks and eliminates space for runners. He has outstanding block recognition, handles double teams and possesses surprising range. He makes plays down the field, which is incredible to see at his size. Not every team will value his skill set, but I think he can be a dominant force in the right scheme.”

No. 31 Quay Walker – The second linebacker projected to come out for the Bulldogs is Quay Walker. Playing more off the ball than on the interior, Walker projects as one of the later picks in the first round by Jeremiah. The NFL draft scout says the linebacker’s “best football is ahead of him” thanks to size and speed. A potential bump could be coming with the NFL combine pending but Walker will be a handful of Georgia Bulldogs players taken on night one.

No. 38 Devonte Wyatt (Jeremiah’s take) – “Wyatt is a thick/square defensive tackle with excellent quickness. He flashes some big-time ability as a pass rusher, getting off the ball with nice burst and leverage. He has collected pressures/sacks with quick arm-overs, nifty spins and power. He is really dynamic when he changes directions, crossing the face of his opponent. His stats don’t jump off the page, but that was more the result of all the talent around him on Georgia’s defense. Against the run, he keeps a low pad level and controls the point of attack. He has excellent range. Wyatt has tremendous upside and could emerge as the top interior lineman in this class.”
