Former USC wideout Michael Jackson III commits to Georgia

Former USC wideout Michael Jackson III has committed to Georgia as a transfer, he announced Thursday on social media. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Jackson has been a consistent contributor for the Trojans for three years, playing in 24 career games in three seasons. He’s yet to play double-digit games in a season, though, as a crowded receiver room and injuries limited his opportunities at various points.

In his college career, Jackson has caught 46 passes for 498 yards and five touchdowns. Landing at Georgia, Jackson will likely not be in as crowded a pack for targets, especially with a few of the top targets on the current Bulldogs offense moving on to the NFL. And with quarterback Carson Beck returning, it’s an attractive landing spot.

Jackson played high school football at Desert Pines (Nevada) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 383 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
