Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove defensive back Kayin Lee has decommitted from Georgia, he announced on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder had been committed to the Bulldogs since September.

“First I would like to thank everyone at the University of Georgia for the opportunity I’ve been blessed with!” Lee wrote on Twitter. “I would love to thank the staff for all the love that they have shown me and my family. After talks with God and my family I’ve decided to decommit from the University of Georgia. I know that God will show me where to go and where my future will land me.”

Kayin Lee is the No. 117 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 12 cornerback and the No. 11 junior prospect in Georgia.

On3’s own rankings are significantly higher on him, ranking him as the No. 44 overall prospect, No. 6 cornerback and No. 3 prospect in the Peach State.

Lee chose the Bulldogs in late September over fellow finalist Ohio State, as well as more than 20 other offers. He recently added an offer from LSU, as well as ones from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Texas and Nebraska.

Georgia now has eight commitments in the 2023 class; the Bulldogs currently rank No. 3 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
