Four-star offensive tackle Michael Uini of Copperas Cove (TX) High announced his commitment to Georgia Friday evening.

The 6-foot-8, 325 pounder chose the Bulldogs over Michigan and Alabama.

Uini on why he chose Georgia

“Everything about them really,” Uini said. “The development of offensive linemen is amazing. Education is top tier, life after football program teaches the players how to use the talents and skills they have if/when football ends. The connection between the coaches and the connection between coaches and the players is amazing to see and feel. Feeling that type of energy all around you only makes you want to work harder and strive for greatness, because you see all of your brothers around you doing the same.

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I’ve been keeping in touch with, of course coach Searles, coach king, coach Manrey, coach Coop, and coach Kelly. They all work specifically for the offensive line, so if I ever needed anything, they would be there for me. They plan on developing me and making me into a 1st rounder.

Michael Uini Scouting Summary

“Shows flashes of dominance. A light-footed mover when working to the second level. Naturally redirects laterally in pass protection. Shows substantial natural punch in hands. Can stun and neutralize defensive linemen with a quick jolt. Runs his feet on contact and can drive defenders at will. Shows glimpses of high-end upside but needs to put it all together. Can to improve awareness and technique in pass protection, as he surrendered some sacks as a junior. Could also ratchet up his physicality and improve overall consistency on a play to play basis. Plays basketball for his high school team and shows the athleticism to dunk flat-footed. Older for the cycle, turning 18 in the spring of his junior year.”

The Lone Star State offensive tackle joins coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs’ No. 1 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, and others.

Uini ranks as the No. 150 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 28 player in the state of Texas.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $84K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
