Four-Star WR Anthony Evans flips to Georgia
Four-star wide receiver Anthony Evans of Converse (TX) Judson High announced his commitment to Georgia Friday afternoon.
The 5-foot-11, 160 pounder chose the Bulldogs over Texas A&M, Penn State, and Oklahoma.
Evans on why he chose Georgia
“Really the coaching staff,” Evans said. “Talking with BMac really helped me, and I did not know which school I wanted to go to. I was leading towards Oklahoma, and I prayed and talked to my parents about it. They told me to go where I feel most comfortable at, and what feels like home.”
“I feel as if I will succeed anywhere, so the part about how different their offense is doesn’t affect me because I believe in myself. I earned this just like the players that they have there now, and I feel like I can come in and make an immediate impact.”
Relationships with coaching staff stood out
“BMac, most definitely,” Evans said when asked who he is closest with. “We talk every day. There is nothing better. I had the same thing with Gundy at Oklahoma, and that is what kept them close, but unfortunately things happen. It is life and I had to move past it.”

How Georgia plans to use Evans’ speed
“That is what Todd Monken does,” Evans said. “I will go play in the slot and he excels in producing fast wide receivers like me, so I believe it is a perfect fit.”
The Lone Star state wide receiver joins Georgia’s No.2 class in the 2023 team rankings alongside A.J. Harris, Troy Bowles, and others.
Evans currently ranks as the No. 256 Player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting services. He also tabs in at the No. 34 wide receiver, and the No. 46 player in the state of Texas.
