Georgia baseball confirms pitchers Brian Zeldin and Collin Caldwell returning for 2025 season
Georgia baseball got some good news on Wednesday evening regarding two of their pitchers. Reliever Brian Zeldin and lefty Collin Caldwell will both be coming back to the team for the 2025 season, according to a report from Anthony Dasher of Yahoo Sports. Zeldin also confirmed the news via his Twitter page on Wednesday evening. Zeldin was a big piece of the Bulldog bullpen this year, finishing with a 3-3 record and six saves. Lefty Collin Caldwell missed all of the 2024 season due to elbow surgery.
Georgia baseball had an excellent season in 2024, finishing with a 43-17 overall record and a 17-13 record in the SEC. They advanced all the way to the Super Regionals, where they lost two of three games to the NC State Wolfpack. Slugger Charlie Condon had one of the best seasons by any power hitter in school history this year.
He was selected No. 3 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies.
It wasn’t just a mere coincidence that the Bulldogs’ slugger finished this season so highly decorated. Condon led the NCAA in OPS (1.565), slugging percentage (1.043), batting average (.443), and home runs (37). The former Georgia star racked up nearly every award and accolade imaginable: the Dick Howser Trophy, the 2024 Golden Spikes Award, and the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award.
