Georgia lands transfer commitment from Oklahoma State big man Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe
The Georgia Bulldogs have added a talented forward to its basketball team. On Monday, Oklahoma State transfer Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe announced that he has committed to Georgia.
“Athens let’s get to it,” he said in an Instagram post.
Moncrieffe started his collegiate career at Oklahoma State as part of the 2020 recruiting class. He was a four-star forward and a national top 100 prospect, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

In two years at Oklahoma State, he played in 58 games with 21 starts, averaging 18.2 minutes per game. Moncrieffe averaged nine points per game and 5.3 rebounds as a freshman but had 4.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this past season as a sophomore. In his career, Moncrieffe is a 51.2% shooter from the field and 53.8% from the free throw line.
Moncrieffe, an Ontario, Canada native, originally chose Oklahoma State over offers from Arizona State, Florida, Iowa State, and Seton Hall. New Georgia head coach Mike White was at Florida as the Gators recruited Moncreiffe originally, and now the forward is coming to Athens to play under his new coach.

Moncrieffe is the latest addition on Georgia’s roster
Over the past week, Georgia added multiple commitments through the transfer portal. Terry Roberts, a former Bradley guard, announced last week that he is heading to Athens, and former Alabama guard Jasaun Holt is also heading to play for the Bulldogs. With Moncrieffe now part of the roster, Mike White has undoubtedly put some serious work in on revamping Georgia’s program.
Coming to Georgia was an easy decision for White. He saw a lot of promise in the roster at it once stood, and with some of his guys now joining the team, he is likely even more happy about where things currently stand.
“Everything that I was looking for, everything that I wanted to hear, I have heard and I have seen, that continued today throughout all the meetings that I’ve had with these administrators,” White said after being hired. “Had a really productive day and I feel like, to a certain extent, that we’ve hit the ground running. We’ve got a lot of work to do obviously and as a family, we’ve got to get settled, we’ve got to get a staff in place and get a little bit of normalcy but once we do, I’m going to be about as happy a camper as there is.”
