Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker announced he would be forgoing his senior season and declaring for the 2022 NFL draft. He is just the latest Bulldog to take the next step after winning the national championship on Monday.

Walker announced his decision via Twitter on Friday. He penned a letter to everybody involved with the Georgia program as well, from the fans to his fellow teammates.

“Through my experiences here at Georgia, I can say I’ve had the opportunity to play for some of the best coaches in the nation,” Walker said. “I can’t thank Coach Smart, Coach Scott, and the rest of the coaching staff for pushing and developing me into the man I am on and off the field.

“To my teammates, thank you for the legendary memories we’ve created and the brotherhood we’ll always share. We pushed each other to be the best day in and day out. I wouldn’t be in this situation without each and every one of you.

“I would also like to thank the fans. It has been an honor and a privilege to represent Georgia and after discussions with my family and coaches, I am excited to start my next chapter by declaring for the NFL draft.”

Coming out of high school, Walker was a five-star prospect on the On3 Consensus. He is a native of Thomaston, GA, and was the fourth highest-rated prospect within the state. Walker selected Georgia over the likes of Auburn and North Carolina, ending his collegiate career as a national champion.
