Georgia Bulldogs Recruiting: 2024 commit breakdown
After finishing in the top three each of the past three years, Kirby Smart and his staff are looking to secure the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for the 2024 cycle. Georgia currently holds commitments from 28 prospects in the 2024 class. Fourteen of those pledges play offense, 12 come from the defense and one punter is committed to the Bulldogs.
That group of commitments rates as the No. 1 overall class in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, thus also No. 1 in the SEC.
Georgia Class Breakdown
Georgia’s class consists of two five-stars, 19 four-stars and six three-star prospects. The five-star recruits committed to the Bulldogs are Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy cornerback Ellis Robinson IV and Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge linebacker Justin Williams.
Six additional pledges are ranked in the top 100 of the On3 Industry Ranking: Raymore (Mo.) Raymore-Peculiar four-star tight end Jaden Reddell, Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge four-star defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back Nathaniel Frazier, Salem (Va.) four-star linebacker Chris Cole, South Bend (Ind.) Top Georgia Defensive Commit: CB Ellis Robinson IV
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Ellis Robinson IV headlines the class as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the 2024 cycle. On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about Robinson as a prospect:
“Ball-hawking cornerback with plus length, ball skills and refined movement skills. Has shown the ability to make high-level plays on the ball throughout his high school career. Measured close to 6-foot-0, 175 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length for the position with arms that measure a shade under 33 inches. Dominated competition in New York’s Catholic league as a sophomore, bringing in eight interceptions. Made several impressive, acrobatic picks. Moved to IMG Academy as a junior, where he looked like the top defensive back on the Ascenders’ loaded roster. Made strides as a junior relative to his technical skills.
“Pairs his length and ball skills with refined footwork. Understands routes and generally stays in phase. Embraces matchups against top receivers and is willing to get physical at the line of scrimmage. Also tests as a good athlete in the combine setting. While his speed is good, he does not register as elite for the position. Can continue getting stronger and adding good mass once in a college strength program.”
Top Bulldogs Offensive Commit: TE Jaden Reddell
Raymore (Mo.) Ray-Pec tight end Jaden Reddell sits atop the offensive side of the ball in this group as the nation’s No. 55 prospect and No. 4 tight end. Power writes this about Raiola as a prospect:
“Gifted pass-catcher with wide receiver skills and athleticism in a tight end’s body. Measured at around 6-foot-4, 230 pounds in the spring prior to his senior season. Has plus length and a big frame with 34-inch arms and 10-inch hands. Highly proficient as a receiving threat. Has some of the best ball skills in the 2024 cycle, regardless of position. Naturally plucks the ball out of the air and effortlessly tracks the ball over his shoulder, making difficult grabs look routine. Uses his strong hands, coordination and understanding of body positioning to consistently come down with contested catches in jump ball situations.
… Runs very well and has a unique long stride that aids in pulling away once in the open field. Can be a bully after the catch, using a stiff arm to neutralize defenders. Very productive as a junior, catching 49 passes for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. Primarily lines up as a wide receiver for his high school team. Will need to develop as a blocker in order to be an every down tight end as he moves up in level of play. Has also played basketball, showing some athleticism on the hardwood.”
