The Georgia Bulldogs just sent a bevy of talent to the next level in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the top league in football is filled with former Bulldogs.

According to a Wednesday report from NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler, former Bulldogs great and first-round running back Sony Michel — who most recently spent one season with the Rams where he won his second NFL Super Bowl — is set to visit the Dolphins, Saints and potentially other organizations seeking a dynamic option in the backfield for 2022.

“Former first-round RB Sony Michel visited with the #Dolphins today and is set to visit the #Saints  later this week, per source,” Fowler tweeted. “Multiple teams looking for an offensive weapon post-draft.”

The former Georgia running back was selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft where he put together a prolific collegiate career and helped lay the foundation for the team’s current success.

While he’s always been utilized in at least a dual-back situation instead of being the primary workhorse, Michel has thrived. In his first two seasons in New England, the shifty back known for making defenders miss along with his ability to thrive as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, had almost identical back-to-back seasons. He rushed for 931 yards and had six touchdowns in 2018 and finished 2019 with 916 yards on the ground with seven scores.

But a lingering injury limited the former Bulldogs star in 2020, and he was eventually placed on injured reserve.

Although Michel was fully healthy and set for year four in New England, the Rams made an unexpected move to acquire the Pats’ running back just ahead of the 2021 campaign.

The move proved to be pivotal as the former Bulldog filled in for starting RB Cam Akers, who eventually returned in the playoffs but was out the entire regular season. Michel led the team in rushing and captured his second Lombardi Trophy in just four years.

It’s clear he has plenty of gas left in the tank so it will be interesting to monitor where he lands for 2022.
