Georgia climbs in On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings

Georgia notched another victory on the recruiting trail Tuesday when Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett committed to the Bulldogs. His pledge elevated Georgia’s 2023 recruiting class to No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the SEC.
Jarrett chose Georgia over Auburn and North Carolina.
“Georgia just nailed everything for me,” Jarrett told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I had a checklist of questions for coaches as I went into my official visits, and after the intro at Georgia. I didn’t have any. From the player development, the education, the student life, where I would live, and everything else. Georgia just checked all the boxes for me.”
Jarrett is the No. 154 overall prospect and No. 20 defensive lineman in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in North Carolina.
Jarrett’s commitment continues strong July for Bulldogs
It’s been a great nine days for Georgia. In that time, the Bulldogs have earned commitments from Jarrett, Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit four-star linebacker Troy Bowles and Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln four-star linebacker Raylen Wilson. All three are top-200 prospects.
While Jarrett is Georgia’s 10th-highest-ranked recruit, he is the Bulldogs’ 12th four-star prospect in the 2023 class. A fellow four-star, Miami Gulliver Prep four-star cornerback Daniel Harris, committed to Georgia this month as well.

The Bulldogs performed strong on the recruiting trail in June as well. They landed commitments from four recruits such as Phenix City (Ala.) Central four-star cornerback A.J. Harris, Barnesville (Ga.) Lamar County Comprehensive four-star linebacker CJ Allen, Colonial Heights (Va.) Life Christian Academy three-star interior offensive lineman Joshua Miller and Lafayette (La.) Ascension Episcopal three-star kicker Peyton Woodring.
Harris, the No. 34 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, is currently the top recruit in Georgia’s class. Two of the Bulldogs’ commitments last month were from four-star recruits including Harris.
“I’ve been going to their camp since I was in the 6th grade,” Harris told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on why he chose Georgia. “I feel at home every time I’m on campus. I love Coach Fran Brown. He’s the realest coach I’ve ever talked to. He has a plan for me that I believe in. & Georgia is where I want to be and feel I can get developed there.”
