Georgia coach Wes Johnson ejected from Kennesaw State game after arguing call

Some say midweek games are a little less important than weekend series in college baseball, but you’d be hard-pressed to convince second-year Georgia head coach Wes Johnson.
Especially after a Tuesday night game against Kennesaw State.
With his team trailing 4-2 in the top of the seventh inning, Wes Johnson watched as a pitch-clock violation was called on Georgia pinch hitter Bryce Clavon. Johnson came out to argue the call and was promptly ejected.
Then he was unceremoniously escorted by law enforcement away from the field. You can watch that below.
The game itself was outstanding, a competitive early season contest, with Kennesaw State gunning for Wes Johnson and the No. 11 ranked Georgia squad.
Kennesaw State burst onto the scene with four runs in the first two innings, taking a lead. But Georgia has slowly chipped away at it since.
An RBI single by second baseman Ryland Zabrowski in the top of the fourth inning plated a run, then a wild pitch scored another, making it 4-2 at the time.
But the Bulldogs answered again in the top of the seventh after the Wes Johnson ejection. Third baseman Slate Alford got hold of a pitch and absolutely pummeled it to left field, sending it over the wall to cut the deficit to just 4-3.

At the end of the seventh inning, Kennesaw State had racked up seven hits, while Georgia had five. Neither team had an error through the first seven frames.
The Bulldogs would go on to add a tying run in the eighth, before tacking on two more in the ninth to make it 6-4. Pitching would do the rest, holding on for the win.
Georgia started off the season with a four-game foray in Wilmington, N.C. The team dusted Quinnipiac 9-1 and then 7-4 to start the campaign 2-0. Then a 7-3 win against UNC Wilmington followed before a stumble came on Sunday, with Georgia falling to UNC Wilmington 6-2.
Wes Johnson and Georgia will be back in weekend action with a four-game series starting Thursday, at home, against UIC.
