Georgia coaches visit five-star DL commit Mykel Williams

Columbus (Ga.) Hardaway defensive lineman Mykel Williams is popular among the Georgia coaches.

Williams is the No. 20 overall player in On3 Consensus for the class of 2022. On Tuesday night Georgia coaches filled his living room. Head coach Kirby Smart, defensive coordinator Dan Lanning and running backs coach Dell McGee.

Williams committed to the Bulldogs back in October. As a result of Clay Helton’s departure, he decommitted from USC.

Additionally, the Trojans’ new head coach Lincoln Riley made his pitch to Williams in an in-home visit on Thursday night.

Williams is a part of Georgia’s class that has recently fallen to the third in On3’s Consensus Team Rankings. Williams is one of four defensive linemen committed in the class of 2022. He joins Denton (Texas) IMG Academy Bear Alexander, Tifton (Ga.) Tift County Tyre West and Shone Washington.
