Georgia cornerback Daniel Harris will not enter the transfer portal, he announced Saturday following the Bulldogs’ Orange Bowl win. Harris previously stated to On3 on Christmas Day that he planned to enter the portal.

However, Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart explained Friday that Harris still had not officially entered the portal. The defensive back cleared things up with a tweet Saturday, which you can view below.

A true freshman, Harris appeared in five games for the Bulldogs during the regular season but did not record any stats. That changed Saturday when he came away with the first tackle of his college career in a dominant 63-3 victory against Florida State.

As a recruit, Harris was a four-star prospect out of Gulliver Prep in Miami, Florida. He ranked as the No. 163 overall player and No. 18 cornerback in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With the news that Daniel Harris will not transfer, he’ll aim to continue to develop and carve out a role in the secondary in the seasons to come.
