Georgia defensive back Collin Gill has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Gill will be transferring for the second time, having previously moved from Oregon to Georgia. According to Georgia statistics listed on the team’s official website, he appeared in only one game this season.

During his lone season in Eugene, Ore., in 2023, Gill took a redshirt.

Prior to enrolling at Oregon, Collin Gill was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,058 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 102 cornerback in his class and the No. 6 overall player in Washington DC, hailing from Washington (DC) St. John’s.

Georgia loses Collin Gill, gains another

It wasn’t all bad news for Georgia on Tuesday in the NCAA transfer portal, despite Collin Gill’s departure from the team. The Bulldogs also added a major piece.

Former Texas A&M wide receiver Noah Thomas has committed to Georgia out of the NCAA transfer portal per Rusty Mansell. He entered the portal on Jan. 1.

Thomas played three seasons with the Aggies. In 2024, he logged a career-high 39 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns, coming out to 14.7 yards per catch. In his career, Thomas has 73 catches for 984 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Before college, Thomas was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 57 overall prospect in the state, the No. 65 wide receiver in the class and the No. 379 overall prospect in the class.

Thomas battled through injuries in 2023. In the end, it made him a better player this past season and he should be sought after in the portal.

“It was tough but everyone’s a little banged up during the season,” Thomas said before his junior season. “I had a different scenario, but, yeah, it was tough. I got to go through some adversity. One once in a while … It was a little battle that I had to get through, but I’m good now.

“I feel great. I’m back to my speed. I’m back to my strengths. So, I feel better than ever.”

That turned out to be the case, as Thomas’ career-high stat line in 2024 proves. He’ll look to build on that in 2025 with the Bulldogs, who are coming off an SEC Championship and College Football Playoff appearance this past season.

On3’s Barkley Truax also contributed to this report.
