Georgia linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson was arrested on two misdemeanor charges, according to On3 and DawgsHQ’s Palmer Thombs. He was cited for reckless driving and racing on highway/streets, police said.

Dumas-Johnson was booked into Athens-Clarke County Jail at 6:35 p.m. ET on Tuesday and released less than an hour later. The police log states the event took place at 8 p.m. local time Jan. 10, just after Georgia won the national championship.

“Warrants issued 02/21/23, charges resulted from the investigation into an officer’s observation of two vehicles travelling beside each other on College Station Road in a reckless manner at high speeds that fled the area upon sight of the officer,” the police log said.

Dumas-Johnson just wrapped up his sophomore season with Georgia. He had 70 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks to help the Bulldogs to their second straight national title.

Schumann is the latest college coach interviewed by the Eagles for the vacant defensive coordinator job in Philadelphia. The Eagles spoke with former Wisconsin interim coach Jim Leonhard, but passed. Philadelphia also reportedly interviewed Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.

Schumann is the latest college coach potentially making a jump to the pros, according to Mathews’ report. He was previously a name to watch for Alabama’s defensive coordinator job back in January, according to Bruce Feldman.

Schumann, 32, has been the co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Georgia since 2019. He joined the staff in 2016 solely to coach inside linebackers and then got the title bump.

Schumann has worked alongside Dan Lanning — a former Georgia DC who just finished his first season as the Oregon head coach — and currently serves as co-DC alongside Will Muschamp. He came to Georgia from Alabama, where he got his coaching start under Nick Saban.
