Georgia linemen Tate Ratledge, Jared Wilson unexpectedly pull out of Senior Bowl

Georgia linemen Tate Ratledge and Jared Wilson have pulled out of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, executive director Jim Nagy revealed on Monday. Nagy did not provide any additional information on why they’re not participating.
Ratledge accepted the invitation to the Senior Bowl on Dec. 27. He was the first player on the Georgia roster to accept the invite. For Wilson, his situation is a bit clearer. He is dealing with lingering “effects of a long season and will prep for the combine,” NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller revealed on Sunday.
It was hinted that Ratledge would not be playing in the Senior Bowl on Feb. 1 when rosters were released earlier in the day on Monday. It was later pointed out that his name had been omitted from the roster.
Both Ratledge and Wilson are considered to be some of the top talent available at their position. ESPN ranks Wilson as the No. 2 overall center in the class with a projected second-round selection, while Ratledg is the No. 4 guard in the class with a fourth-round projection. ESPN also lists Georgia OG Dylan Fairchild as the No. 3 guard above Ratledge.
Ratledge spent five seasons in Athens. During his time with the program, Ratledge started a total of 37 games at right guard, earning All-American selections in both 2023 (AP Second-Team) and 2024 (AP Third-Team, AFCA First-Team).
The now former Georgia guard also was named to the All-SEC First-Team by both the AP and Coaches in each of the last two seasons.

A native of North Carolina, Wilson spent just one season as a starter for Georgia, being among the first men on the field in 12 of 14 games. He missed two games due to injury and was the backup to Sedrick Van Pran each of his first three seasons on campus. Wilson earned Second-Team All-SEC selection by the league’s coaches.
Even without the two linemen, Georgia’s presence will still be felt during the Senior Bowl. Trevor Etienne, Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Dan Jackson, Smael Mondon and Arian Smith will all be featured during the matchup.
The 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl is set to play on Feb. 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET and will air live on the NFL Network.
Georgia also has a handful of players participating in the 100th annual East-West Shrine Bowl. Those players include Warren Brinson, Chaz Chambliss, Dominic Lovett, Nazir Stackhouse, Xavier Truss and Ben Yurosek.
