Georgia offensive lineman Marques Easley has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so just a few weeks after reports of him crashing a car into a residential complex emerged.

Easley was a redshirt freshman, coming off his first season with the program. He appeared in two games during the 2024 campaign but took a redshirt. Easley was recently involved in an accident, just the latest in a string of traffic-related issues for the Bulldogs. The program has had its fair share of those in the last two years.

According to an incident report obtained by Marc Weiszer of the Athens-Banner Herald, in mid-March, a white Dodge Challenger left the roadway and connected with a power distribution box. The car also hit two other vehicles parked in a driveway as it continued out of control.

Grady Newsource reported that the vehicle belonged to a Georgia football player. It did not specifically link Easley and no charges were found pertaining to the incident at the time. The incident was just the latest in a string of driving-related infractions plaguing the Georgia football program. One proved fatal.

Offensive lineman Devin Willock and program staffer Chandler LeCroy were killed in a crash in January 2023. Since then, the program’s driving issues have been under the microscope. Yet the issues persist.

Last September, Bulldogs defensive back Daniel Harris was arrested for driving 106 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone. Harris also was charged with not wearing a seatbelt, operating an unregistered vehicle without a license plate, driving without proof of insurance, and having illegal window tint.

Following the news of the issue for Easley, coupled with a traffic violation for receiver Nitro Tuggle, Georgia announced some changes in status. Georgia released a statement noting both Tuggle and Easley were suspended indefinitely and that the program would have no further comment at the time.
