Georgia punter Brett Thorson reacts to Carson Beck's return with funny tweet
Georgia got some good news about the future of the quarterback position in Athens when starting quarterback Carson Beck announced his return to the Bulldogs.
That decision garnered a ton of reactions from the Georgia community. That included Brett Thorson, a punter on the Bulldogs team. However, Thorson’s reaction was much funnier than both.
“Well…… f***,” Brett Thorson posted.
It’s a blunt and pretty funny response from the Australian punter. After all, he doesn’t get much of an opportunity to punt the football with Carson Beck running the offense. It’s a love-hate relationship that he has with the Georgia quarterback and all in good fun between the two of them.
Thorson only punted the ball 31 times this season. That’s fewer than the 36 he booted last year when Stetson Bennett was running the offense. Of course, Thorson also had fun joking about not getting enough playing time on Twitter with Bennett too.
“Still trying to figure out if Stetson really hates me or whether he just thinks I’m a terrible punter,” Thorson had joked.
Jokes aside, both Thorson and Georgia are happy to have Beck back for the 2024 season. In his first season as the starter, Beck was a Coaches All-SEC Second Team selection and a finalist for the Manning Award. He also completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,738 yards and 22 touchdowns to only six interceptions while keeping the offense running efficiently.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announces decision to return for 2024 season
After debating his future and potentially declaring for the NFL Draft, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced that he will return to the Bulldogs on Monday. In his announcement, he explained that the NFL can wait and called for fans to support the team at the Orange Bowl.
“My friends and family have helped put me in a situation to have options for my future,” Beck said in a statement through Georgia. “However, the NFL can wait one more year. I am returning to UGA for my senior season. We need everyone’s support in Miami to close this season out the right way!”
2023 was Beck’s first season as the starter after taking over for Stetson Bennett, leading Georgia to an unbeaten regular season in the process.
