On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Georgia trending with two elite pass-catchers
Georgia got bad news earlier this week when five-star tight end commit Landen Thomas flipped his pledge to Florida State, but the bad news doesn’t last too long in Athens these days.
After the latest industry updates, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) now favors the Bulldogs to land a pair of elite offensive recruits out of Missouri: five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo and On3 No. 1 tight end Jaden Reddell.
The RPM gives Georgia a 50.1 percent chance to land Wingo, while Reddell’s odds of landing in Athens are now at 79.1 percent. Both jumped significantly after predictions from elsewhere in the recruiting industry were placed in favor of the Bulldogs.
Wingo is the No. 21 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 5 wide receiver and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Missouri.
Reddell, meanwhile, is tabbed as the No. 49 overall recruit in the Industry Ranking. On3 is higher on him than the other recruiting services, though. In the recently updated On300 rankings, he was slotted as the country’s No. 22 prospect, No. 1 tight end and No. 2 player in the Show Me State.
Georgia holding onto No. 2 class nationally
Coming into the week, the Bulldogs held the top spot in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but dropped out after Thomas’ decommitment.
However, they’re currently trending to land Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Dylan Raiola, and are also in the hunt for a handful of other five-stars, including safety KJ Bolden, linebacker Sammy Brown, wide receiver Mike Matthews, defensive lineman Justin Scott, and EDGE Colin Simmons. In total, the Bulldogs are in legitimate contention for nearly a dozen of the country’s top 30 or so prospects as we head into the summer.

Reddell is right on the cusp of five-star status and will be back in Athens next month, sandwiched in between trips to Alabama and Tennessee.
“I have only visited Georgia once, so I am looking forward to getting back,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons on Tuesday. “The way Georgia uses and produces tight ends is a big part of my interest in them. Also the way Georgia wins and having a chance to win championships if I go there is something I like. Then you have Coach (Todd) Hartley and he is one of my favorite coaches to talk to. It is not always about football with Coach Hartley and I like that.”
Wingo has also only been to Athens once at this point. But he has locked in his official visit for the first weekend in June. He was impressed by the Bulldogs’ offense this season and thinks he could have a pivotal role under head coach Kirby Smart and receivers coach Bryan McClendon.
“They were slinging the ball around,” Wingo said last month. “I used to think that Georgia was a running team. But when I saw them at practice, they were slinging the ball a lot. Obviously, they’ve got some recruits that are starting to come up. It’ll be fun.”
