Georgia has indefinitely suspended assistant men’s basketball coach Wade Mason after an altercation took place between Mason and Bulldogs’ director of player development Brian Fish during halftime of Wednesday’s road game at LSU, according to DawgsHQ.

As DawgsHQ points out, Georgia has yet to release a statement on the matter, but Bulldogs’ head coach Tom Crean should be asked about the incident following Saturday’s game against Ole Miss.

Mason joined Georgia’ staff in June 2021 after spending five seasons at Stephen F. Austin. Prior to his time there, Mason had stints as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts from 2012-16 and Oklahoma as a graduate assistant during the 2011-12 season.

Georgia is currently 6-20 overall with a 1-12 mark in SEC play. The Bulldogs have dropped six straight games and 14 of their last 15.

As the clock neared zero, Green Jr. drove into the paint. Among the trees, the guard found a way to get the ball in the hoop. The score ended up being the game-winning shot for the Tigers.

With 2:34 remaining in the first half, Georgia watched Auburn race out to a 15-point lead. The Tigers expected to win, and it looked like they were on their way to doing so. Then, the Bulldogs showed their heart — cutting the lead to 12 before half and taking charge in the second half. The Bulldogs outscored the Tigers 42-30 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.

Leading the way for Georgia was guard Kario Oquendo, who scored a whopping 25 points for the Bulldogs. Additionally, he was aided by guard Braelen Bridges (14 points) and forward Jaxon Etter (13 points) in finding victory.
