Grandfather posts poignant pictures of Georgia lineman Devin Willock, grandson hours before tragic death

Georgia faithful and the college football world as a whole are mourning Bulldogs offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy after both tragically passed away on Sunday.

The 20-year old offensive lineman for the Bulldogs and the staff member both passed away on Sunday morning following a car accident, the school announced. 

Support is coming from all angles, but one moment shared to Twitter by Bulldogs fanatic Sam Kramer is making eyes swell, as he posted just last night about how he crossed paths with Willock.

According to Kramer, the Georgia offensive lineman went out of his way to make his grandson feel special, posing for photos and letting him wear his championship rings, and he shared them to Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

“Special thank u to @DevinWillock for taking time for my grandson when he didn’t have to,” tweeted Sam Kramer, a Georgia Bulldogs fanatic on Twitter. “U went out of ur way to make him feel special and U made his day!! Good luck next year! Go Dawgs!”

The thoughts and prayers of the college football world are with the Georgia Bulldogs, and the families of both Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy on Sunday morning, as well as everyone involved.

Georgia releases statement following tragic deaths of Devin Willock, recruiting staffer

Georgia has released a statement following the tragic death of both offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy.

The statement was shared to Twitter by Georgia, stating, “We are heartbroken over the passing over Devin and Chandler. Our prayers are with their families during this difficult time.”

“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy. Two other members of the football program were injured in the accident. They are both in stable condition, and we will continue to monitor their status with medical personnel.

“Devin and Chandler were two special people who meant so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and our athletic department.  We ask that everyone keep their families in your prayers during this very difficult time.

“The UGA Athletic Association will work with our medical team as well as our mental health and performance personnel to make sure we are providing the best support possible for our staff and student-athletes who are processing this grief. We can provide no further comment at this time but ask that everyone continue to keep those involved in your prayers.”
