Report: Jalen Carter not visiting teams outside of Top 10 in NFL Draft
Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter reportedly visited the Chicago Bears Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It was the second visit for Carter, who also visited with the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, the interesting nugget is Carter won’t visit teams drafting outside of the Top 10, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The report came on the heels of the body cam footage of Carter’s involvement in a fatal crash in January being released.
Carter’s stock was expected to drop due to the incident and a lackluster Pro Day. But that does not seem to be the case.
“Georgia DT Jalen Carter is visiting the Bears today,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “It is his second visit, with him already having visited the Eagles. Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said he is declining visit requests for any team drafting outside the top 10 picks. ‘I’m confident Jalen will go in the top 10,’ Rosenhaus said. ‘He’s a good person, a family man, loves football and is a generational talent.’ Carter was invited and plans to attend the NFL Draft later this month in Kansas City.”
Multiple teams reportedly took Carter off their draft boards since the news of his arrest warrant.
Carter pleaded no-contest to reckless driving and racing charges against him in relation to a car crash in January that killed offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy. The AJC reported he was sentenced to 12 months probation, a $1,000 fine, 80 hours of community service and must complete a defensive driving course.

Jalen Carter takes NFL Draft visits amid controversy
Carter was widely seen as a top-five pick in the draft before the incident, and analysts have been mixed on where he could hear his name called next month since the combine.
ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had Carter going No. 6 overall in his latest mock draft last week while Todd McShay projected him to go No. 12 overall March 11. However, former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum released his GM-focused mock draft this week and had Carter as the No. 18 pick to the Detroit Lions.
