James Cook reveals Georgia teammate he's excited to play against in the NFL
Georgia running back James Cook won’t be a stranger in the NFL as a rookie. The brand new Buffalo Bill is one of 15 15 Georgia Bulldogs to be drafted this spring after leaving the 2021 championship team in Athens. He walks into the NFL having been teammates just last season with guys on nearly half of the other teams.
That doesn’t even count teammates from previous years at Georgia. The amount of NFL talent produced by Kirby Smart at Georgia over the last three to four years is hard to believe. Just since Cook entered the program, he’s seen 38 of his teammates go on to become NFL picks. Enough players to field full offense, defense and special teams units with plenty of guys leftover. Amazing run of talent for Smart and that program.
One former teammate Cook is excited to play against is linebacker Channing Tindall, who was picked 29 spots behind Cook in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
“There’s gonna be a lot of trash talk,” Cook said of a potential matchup between the two. They actually will face off head to head in the third week of the season in Miami. For the first time in their careers, Tindall will get the opportunity to tackle Cook during live game action.
Cook knows there will be a good competitive spirit between the two of them. “He’s gotta come with his A game just like I’m gonna come with mine,” he remarked. That 2021 Bulldogs group is going to have to get over their relationships with one another very quickly. Because they’ll be seeing a lot of each other throughout the season.

Cook also reflects on joining his brother in the NFL
Fantasy football aficionados are very familiar with James Cook’s brother, Dalvin Cook. Big bro is one of the highest-producing running backs in the NFL when he’s not hurt, and his younger brother is looking to replicate that sort of success.
But does Dalvin’s achievements on the field put a lot of pressure on James to go and be just as good? Not according to the younger Cook. He says that he doesn’t feel any extra expectations from his brother’s success. “I just gotta go out there and perform for myself,” said Cook.
He’s not his brother. James Cook is trying to forge his own path in the NFL, and his brother’s stature won’t overshadow his start to his own career.
