WATCH: Jordan Davis returns to Georgia for hilarious moment with Kirby Smart
Jordan Davis returned to the Georgia campus this week, where he surprised his former coach Kirby Smart in hilarious fashion. When Smart walked in for a coaches’ meeting, he found the 6-foot-6, 340-pound defensive lineman casually leaning back in his chair at the head of the table.
Smart didn’t appear too shocked, as he responded with a “Sup, baby” before joking that Davis should lead the meeting. Then Davis stood up and gave the chair back to Smart, saying he would get out of his hair.
“Everybody was looking at me, so I expected you to be there,” Smart said to Davis.
Kirby Smart went on to compliment Jordan Davis on a response in one of his recent press conferences since joining the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him 13th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he has been preparing to start his rookie season.

Of course, Davis is coming off of a spectacular year with the Bulldogs that culminated with a national championship this past January. He ended the year with 32 tackles (five for loss) and two sacks across 14 games. Davis also impressed at the NFL Combine prior to the draft, where he drew rave reviews after running a 4.78 in the 40-yard dash.

Davis is set to join an Eagles team that coming off a 9-8 finish and appearance in the playoffs, where they lost in the wild card. Philadelphia returns quarterback Jalen Hurts and also added receiver AJ Brown this offseason, so their offense looks to continue to get stronger. Davis will hope to step in and improve the defense as well, and it has already been reported he has shed some weight since joining the team.
As for Smart and the Bulldogs, they will look to remain one of the top defenses in the country in 2022 despite the loss of Davis and several other stars. Georgia opens the season on Sept. 3 against Oregon.
