Former Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis believes that the career of Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett deserves to be put on the big screen. After leading Georgia to a national title alongside Davis last season, Bennett won his second Monday night in a 65-7 rout of TCU.

Bennett’s story is one that certainly seems like it could be a movie, as he began his career as a walk-on. He also did not begin the season as starter in 2021 before eventually taking over and leading Georgia to its first title since 1980. Add in the back-to-back titles, and the “Mailman”, as Bennett is called, certainly sounds like to could be in theatres.

Given the fact that Monday’s championship was played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Davis joked that filming should start now.

“Since y’all already in Hollywood, y’all can start working on the movie #Mailman #GoDawgs,” Davis tweeted.

Bennett put together a spectacular performance Monday, finishing 18-of-25 passing for 304 yards and four touchdowns in the win. He also broke the single-season passing record, finishing the year with 4,127 yards.

Bennett exited early with Georgia holding a massive lead, embracing head coach Kirby Smart as he walked off the field. He also received plenty of cheers from Bulldogs fans, who were no doubt thinking of the way the star began his career in Athens.

Growing up in Georgia, Bennett walked on to the team in 2017 before transferring for one year of JUCO at Jones College in Mississippi. He later returned in 2019 on scholarship, but still had to wait two more seasons to get his chance.

As Jordan Davis said, the story of Stetson Bennett seems made for the movies, and would certainly get lots of eyeballs from Georgia fans if it happens. But either way, it’s clear he won’t ever be forgotten in Athens.
